Hello Classmates! I look forward to meeting you all in the coming months. I’m David and I live in Louisville, KY. I hope to connect with others in the class who will be traveling in for intensives who are interested in possibly sharing logistical costs (car, lodging, etc).

About lodging–Past cohorts and/or individual students have stayed with the A-Lodge and enjoyed it. Other cohorts have found good housing in Boulder via AirBnB. I don’t have one favorite place to share– it seems like cohorts mix it up due to a variety of space and travel needs.The retreat cabin at the Starhouse is always a nice option though it has been booked lately by long term renters. Be aware that the retreat cabin only has two bedrooms– one with Queen size bed and the other a twin. It is good for folks who don’t mind staying in close quarters and are willing to be creative if over two to three people. You might also want to ask the Starhouse how many they would allow in there if this becomes an option for you all. If anyone has camping cots that could work to set up a few in the living room. There is also a couch. The cabin is on Starhouse property so skipping the commute is a bonus.The Starhouse is about a 10-minute drive up Sunshine Canyon– you may want to be looking for rental opportunities on the West side of Boulder near the canyon.

Hey everyone! I am so excited to meet you all! I’m traveling from Santa Cruz, CA (Gina- hi neighbor!) and I would love to share housing and car costs.
I’ll be flying into Denver on the 23rd around 6:30pm, and leaving Denver on the Sunday, the 2nd, around 3pm.-
Deanna, when you have chance would you email me. David is also interested in sharing lodging and car expenses in an effort to make the trip more affordable. Are you open to including him with sharing space? Please email to discuss logistics.

Hi Cohort 19,
Some new information about lodging on the Starhouse property came to me today. The rooms at MorningStar and the Retreat cabin are moving towards being rented by long term renters for an indefinite amount of time. This takes these two lodging offerings out of the running for when you come into town for Intensives. AirBnBs have worked well for many groups and individuals. Also, here is a lead from the Starhouse’s administrative assistant’s email to me:We have connected with A-Lodge, linked here https://a-lodge.com/, they may offer discounts for StarHouse participants, they are about 7 minutes away and they have a shuttle to transport to and from the StarHouse. They are great to work with and should be able to accommodate everyone needing overnight stays.
So– you may want to look into the A Lodge as an option that is close to the Starhouse.

Hi All,
Just some follow up information on A Cabin. I spoke with them today and they have no availability on January 26-27 due to a big event they have going on, but they seem to have availability the other nights during our time in Boulder. Rates are $179 M-W, $189 TH and $209 on Weekends.

Hi all! I’m very excited to meet you all in person come January. I’ll be traveling from Southwest Florida and definitely am interested in cost sharing for vehicle, housing, and other logistics. I have not yet purchased my flights as I’m waiting to connect and figure things out! Looking forward to seeing you all in orientation next week 😀

Hey everyone!
There’s quite a few AirBNB options for 5 or more guests that are cabins or entire houses. I found one for $111/night that sums up to $1,111 for 9 nights (Jan 23rd-Feb 1st) and divides into $222.22 for each person. If that is not auspicious then idk what is. I am sure we could fit more people though if we wanted. It is located 20 mins from Starhouse, but it is in the mountains so travel to and from Boulder would be a bit more difficult.

I asked if it could host 6 and it looks like she offers a discount if people take care of her cat. If I can identify a group of people who is willing to commit and coordinate then I am happy to make the reservation in advance and have everyone reimburse me after via Paypal or check. We can exchange emails.
I will let someone else handle the car rental which can also be shared (:

I have rented a a Midsize SUV for those willing to contribute to cost would be great, 4 should fit comfortably with backpacks and and stuff. 5 would squeeze, but I am sure if we are creative we can make it work. I Fly in 01/23 and leave 02/02. I beleive Deanna and David arrive and departures are them same.
I will send the two of you an email shortly.
