I found that it was hard to stay in fsa while moving, but that the more I practiced it the more I saw it entering into my daily life and almost becoming second nature. I started setting 20 min timers to try to remind myself to get back to connected and I felt that helped keep it in my mind better. I am really enjoying all the different techniques this class has afforded me.

I very much enjoyed this exercise as I spend a lot of time in nature close up with trees and bugs and flowers, and am easily able to get lost in looking at their geometry and patterns. This was an easy exercise as I am able to stare at running water and just be in the moment. Watching as the fish swim into my vision and as the birds and locust make noise all around me. I love looking at the bark of the tree for many long moments. I am always trying to anticipate for nature going on all around me. Nature responds to me in ways that are beyond describing sometimes. Just recently I was gifted an owl pellet and an eagle feather from nature. I can spend hours on end searching for crinoids on the banks of a creek. I love nature!!

I have spent a lot more time on fsa than I did the first two modules and I think it has really helped me connect not only with nature and myself, but my daily living world. I am consciously being more aware of what’s happening in my peripheral and my entire bubble. I spent many hours sitting in a creek and just listening, seeing, smelling and even tasting the world around me. As I reached out more and more I realized I could hear the creatures walking and nibbling on crunchy things but I couldn’t see them. I could smell the flowers and the farm on the air. I could taste the sweetness of a honeysuckle bush when I pulled the stem through. I watched the tadpoles and the minnows swim endlessly around my feet. I have become more calm and focused while also being very aware of my surroundings. I love these journeys!

I found this practice to be easier than surround sound as I already practice it in a way. I started riding motorcycles a few years ago and you really do have to keep an eye on all directions, so when I set down at the creek to widen my gaze I found it very easy to focus on left and right vision. It was very relaxing and calming. I was able to see things happening without having to look directly at them. I definitely feel like I am very aware of my vision field now and find myself actively using this practice and being aware of it.

Im not sure how to start a post so I will just reply.

I found the surround sound experience to be calming most of all. I actually stopped at a neighbor’s house that I do not know and asked permission to walk and hang out their creek. They obliged and here I am. I have practiced many times at home and was ready to apply the practice in nature. After a healthy walk through a field I was able to find the trail the deer use to get down the steep embankment to the creek. You can tell no people roam back here, only the animals and the plants. Once I put all my hearing into practice I realized that I am still too close to the road as I can hear the traffic, but I was also able to hone in on the rippling of the creek. The sound of frogs jumping in the wat. The sounds of birds and locust and the leaves of the trees rustling against each other. I head a dragonfly wings next to me and it was gorgeous.

I tried to share my energy with the ground below and likewise tried to absorb the energy from the water and the soil. I caught a crawldad and held him for a moment. It was a lovely experience.
