Welcome!!!
This is your online classroom area for the Foundations Modules.
When a cohort starts the NCC training they begin with the four Foundation Modules. These modules are offered in sequence and complete the first semester of the program. Once completed, the cohort moves on to the ToolBox Modules where students practice and enhance the foundational skills learned during the Foundation Modules. There are three major categories of learning goals that make up the Foundation Modules:
- Nature-Connection and Relationship
- Coaching Competencies
- Transformational Guiding Competencies
Nature-Connection and Relationship:
Nature-Connection is a state of mind, a way of being. It is accessible to all people. It is our birth-right. All our senses are wired for it, our brains and bodies are wired for it. Nature-connection practices reminds that Nature is the real healer/teacher. We as Nature-Connected Coaches and Guides are facilitators. Additionally, through our own connected relationship with nature we can learn a ton about how to show-up in the coaching/guiding relationships we share with our clients.
Coaching Competencies:
Professional Coaching is a non-clinical modality for supporting change and growth in clients. It’s competencies are applicable to many different types of clients such as life-coaching clients, businesses, personal relationships, executives, etc. The NCC program focus on life-coaching, and during the foundation modules we learn what is expected of us as Professional Coaches while discovering our unique “Coaching Presence”
Transformational Guiding Competencies:
These competencies are what make the NCC work unique from other forms of coaching and guiding. Skills like Deep Listening, Ceremony Facilitation, and Nature as the Guide are not taught anywhere else, or in the same way. Honing these skills will separate you from the rest of the coaches and guides out there, increasing your effectiveness and the power of your sessions with your clients.
You will be given a copy at the start of the program, but feel free to download a copy of the competencies.
- Below is an outline of different steps involved in completing this part of the training.
- Below that is a text box that connects you to the group discussion area. Anything you enter into that text area will be shared with the group, similar to a news feed in Facebook.
Please watch this video before the Foundations Intensive, if possible. It highlights points from the Student Handbook and Policies. It contains important information about the structure of the NCC program, using the online learning center, ICF credentialing, and policies. The video is 48 mins long.

I just sent an email to Gina to follow up, but as of yet haven’t had a chance to connect with anyone. Would y’all be willing to meet on Zoom to hash out travel plans at some point? Wondering if it may be easier than e-mail forums. I’m open! 😀

Hey all! It sounds like there’s a group that’s already full up with accommodations. Is there anyone else that does not yet have any plans for cost-sharing and would like to get together for accommodations and transportation? Shoot me an email! (leslie.wier@gmail.com)

Hey everyone,
I am going to start looking for lodging options in Boulder for the 23rd-2nd. Gina offered a spot to me in the Airbnb and Car, but I cannot commit to the offered price right now. I am on a very tight budget, so if anyone else is also on a tight budget, please let me know! Maybe we can find a cheap option together.
Warmly,
Deanna

Hi Everyone,

-
hi everyone wanted to share this link with you https:www.couchsurfing.com
Leslie, Deanna and I are getting together on zoom tonight to talk, Im thinking more the Cheaper. Have you found anyone to share costs with?
-
Jacklyn, thank you so much for keeping the conversation going! There was a spot available left in one group, I think because Deanna decided to go a different route, so I’ve committed to cost sharing with them since the availability opened up. I greatly appreciate you reaching out though!
As an aside, when I was living in Japan I actually hosted several couch surfers from the website you shared and it was great! From a hosting perspective at least, it’s a great opportunity and I know my guests really enjoyed and appreciated it.

Is anyone still looking for housing for the Foundations week?
I may no longer be joining you all for the January intensive, but my AirBNB with a group of 5 others is already paid for. Please let me know if you are still without housing and would like to take over my spot!
Thanks (:
-
Hey Jacklyn, just wanted to reach out personally to see if you have found housing already? I’ve already paid for my AirBNB with a group of people, but I may not be joining you all in a few weeks. Looking for someone to take that over. It’s around $430 for Jan 23rd-Feb 2nd. Let me know!
